Halle Bailey Requests Restraining Order Against Ex DDG — Report

Halle Bailey has filed for a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend and co-parent, DDG, alleging a disturbing pattern of abuse. The legal request, submitted on May 13 to the Los Angeles County Superior Court, comes just months after the pair publicly announced their breakup. The former couple shares a 1-year-old son, Halo.

According to reports, Halle Bailey alleges that DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., has subjected her to physical, emotional, verbal, and financial abuse throughout their relationship. One alleged incident occurred in January, when an argument at Bailey’s Los Angeles home reportedly turned physical.

Bailey says the confrontation began after she asked when DDG would return Halo. According to the documents, he became “agitated” as she was securing their son in a car seat, leading to a struggle where he allegedly pulled her hair and slammed her face into the steering wheel. Bailey claims the attack left her with bruises on her arms and a chipped tooth. Photos of the injuries were included in the legal filing.

In her statement, Bailey wrote, “I realize that there is no placating Darryl. I cannot allow this abuse any longer. I never know when he is going to demand our son be in his mother’s care and whether I will be subjected to his threats and abuse” (via USA Today).

Beyond physical harm, Bailey says the abuse extended to social media. She accuses DDG, a YouTuber and Twitch streamer in addition to his career as a rapper, of using his platform to paint her as an unfit parent. Due to what she describes as escalating behavior, Bailey is seeking full legal and physical custody of their son.

She also asked the court for permission to take Halo with her to Italy in June, where she’s scheduled to film a movie. As part of the restraining order, Bailey is requesting that DDG have no contact with her or their child and remain at least 100 yards away from both of them. Additionally, the rapper is required to refrain from posting about either of them on social media.
