Rockstar Games has been releasing ports of some of its most beloved games, like Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto Vice City (as part of the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy). Now, it seems the lauded game makers are close to releasing a port of 2008’s GTA 4 and 2012’s Max Payne 3.
GTA 4 and Max Payne 3 ports may be on the way
According to known GTA leaker Tez2 (as spotted by Reddit user leonwongkennedy), Rockstar Games is working on a port for the critically lauded GTA 4. They state that the port might release “later this year.” Additionally, they say the company is working on a port for Max Payne 3 to release along with the remakes of Max Payne and Max Payne 2.
“Someone at [Rockstar Games] hinted at the [GTA 4] port, and by not, it should’ve gone up a year in development,” says the leaker. We may end up seeing it drop later this year. And it’s one more reason, in addition to existing reasons, the LCPP mod was taken down.”
If they still follow their plan laid out from the pandemic days, they’ll do a [Max Payne 3] port after [GTA 4],” continues the leaker. So, that is an opportunity to do a bundle or a Definitive Edition. Max Payne 1 & 2 remakes, and a Max Payne 3 port.”
Like any rumor, take this with a grain of salt. Rockstar has not yet revealed a modern port for GTA 4 or Max Payne 3. We’ll just have to wait and see until they get a formal reveal.
A GTA 4 port releasing this year may satiate some of the fans who might be disappointed by GTA 6’s recent delay. The recently released trailer revealed some new characters, as well as a good look at footage captured on a PS5. The new release date for the highly anticipated game is May 26, 2026.
