Grammy Award-winning rapper Jay Rock arrested after being ‘pulled over by LAPD & trying to flee with gun in his car’

GRAMMY-winning rapper Jay Rock has been arrested by Los Angeles Police – after he tried to flee his vehicle during a pull-over.

The renowned artist, real name Johnny Reed McKinzie, was arrested in Nickerson Garden, in Watts on Thursday for trespassing and drinking in public,

Los Angeles police said that they also found a firearm in the 39-year-old’s vehicle.

Police added that after McKinzie ran from his vehicle, officers chased him down before detaining him.

He was booked on suspicion of felony weapons violation.

The rapper is known for his work with music label Top Dawg Entertainment, and collaborations with iconic rapper Kendrick Lamar.
