When in touch, not many in the world can beat Justin Thomas. He proved the same in his outstanding wins in the 2017 and 2022 PGA Championships. Unfortunately, 2022 was the last time Thomas won anything on the PGA Tour. However, Thomas has managed 19 top-10 finishes during this period, showing that he is not entirely out of form. But that still won’t satisfy the competitive nature of the 31-year-old.

The same was brought to light by Patrick McDonald recently in a tweet. To set the stage, Justin Thomas managed a 10-under-par 61 in the first round of the 2025 RBC Heritage. With that, he tied the record for the lowest score at Harbour Town Golf Links. That made the list of all the other course records the 2x major winner holds in his career.

With a caption “This is absurd,” he shared a picture of a stat shared on the live broadcast of the PGA Tour. Apart from the 2025 RBC Heritage course, the list included famous fairways like TPC Sawgrass, Pete Dye Stadium Course, TPC Kuala Lumpur, Plantation Course at Kapalua, and a few more.

Nearly all the courses had a 10-under score from Thomas. The outstanding record caught the attention of the fans as well, and they sympathized with the PGA Tour pro. Let’s see what he said.

Netizens feel sorry for Justin Thomas due to a lack of success despite a brilliant record

Justin Thomas is undoubtedly one of the better golfers in the world. Yet, his lack of titles in recent years has proven otherwise. As one fan pointed out, “Man, imagine if he could string 4 rounds together.” They believe that if the 31-year-old can maintain the form in all four rounds of tournaments, then he will surely have many more titles in his cabinet. Honestly, with 9 runner-ups in his career, consistency would have definitely helped him convert those into big wins.

Despite not winning as often, Thomas deserves to be respected on the course. Someone acknowledged the same as they tweeted, “Under celebrated, under decorated.”  They believe JT deserves much more recognition and wins than his PGA Tour profile shows. At present, he has 15 titles to his name, including two PGA Championships.

The 31-year-old’s biggest obstacle is inconsistency, which sometimes results from a lack of awareness of the course. That might not be the case for Thomas, but that didn’t stop someone from commenting, “Imagine how good he’d be if someone told him about course management.”  If that’s all he needs, then Thomas and his caddie, Matt Minister, can work on it easily. Fans would hope the issue is as clear as that.

One person said, “Might be the most infuriating golfer to watch because his highs are so high but the lows are oh so low.”  A great example is the rollercoaster at TPC Sawgrass earlier this year. After shooting 78 in the first round of THE PLAYERS Championship, he matched the score record of 62 in the second round. Interestingly, an 18th-hole bogey ensured he didn’t set a new record. Even then, fans had demanded that Thomas “be more consistent.”

“Absurd doesn’t even explain it! He needs to close the deal with these rounds,” commented someone as they were shocked to learn how well Thomas can perform. They believe that if the 31-year-old learns to “close the deal,” he will be far more successful than he already is. His recent loss at the 2025 Valspar Championship shows how, despite fighting it out till the very end, Thomas ended the tournament with a bogey on the 18th to gift the title to Viktor Hovland. Had he managed a simple par, then at least he would have had another shot in the playoffs.
