After months of speculation over who will play the live-action version of Kratos in the upcoming God of War series, renowned voice actor Christopher Judge has reacted to rumors linking him to the part. Judge, who voiced the Ghost of Sparta in the beloved PlayStation franchise, recently provided a cryptic reply to a report claiming that he is currently in talks to reprise his iconic role in live-action.

On September 16, Christopher Judge expressed his doubts regarding a John Campea statement, suggesting he has had discussions to play the real-life iteration of Kratos. The Stargate SG-1 alum responded to the rumor on X (formerly Twitter) by writing, “I am???” along with three confused emojis and a heart.

Notably, Campea recently posted a video on his YouTube channel listing the top candidates for the role of Kratos in the God of War series. The popular film critic included Judge in his list, alongside Jason Momoa, Henry Cavill, Triple H, Dave Bautista, and more.

However, Judge continues to play coy about the prospect of him once again playing the fan-favorite character. He shared a similar message on X in December 2024 when he replied to a list of God of War fan casts that featured his name, writing, “FINALLY” followed by laughing and heart emojis.

First announced by Amazon Prime Video in 2022, the God of War series will most likely follow the story depicted in the 2018 God of War video game. Recent reports suggest that the show will commence filming in March 2026, hinting at a late 2027 or early 2028 release date. Ronald D. Moore, who will serve as showrunner, as well as a writer and executive producer on the series, has confirmed that Amazon has already ordered two more seasons of God of War. Despite the encouraging updates regarding the live-action adaptation of the celebrated video game series, Amazon has yet to share any word on the cast of the much-awaited God of War show.
