Global MapleStory Celebrates 20th Anniversary at MapleCon 2025

This past weekend in LA, NEXON’s popular side-scrolling 2D MMORPG Global MapleStory celebrated its 20th Anniversary with a successful MapleCon 2025 event.

At MapleCon 2025, Chief Product Officer Hanbyeol Oh (Inkwell) introduced MapleStory Classic World, which serves as a “Modern Classic” reimagining of the original MapleStory for today’s players. 

MapleStory Classic World has been designed around three pillars: Origins, Evolution, and Beyond. This project sets out to celebrate nostalgia, all w while enhancing balance, accessibility, and content. 

Attendees of MapleCon 2025 were able to enjoy the world’s first hands-on demo. Note that a Closed Online Test of MapleStory Classic World is planned for early 2026.

In addition, the Winter Update for Global MapleStory is set to arrive November 12. This Winter Update is set to deliver sweeping improvements, including the new job Ren, the Rabbit Anima Warrior, who wields fluid swordsmanship through skills like Plum Blossom Sword and Imugi Spirit Sword. 

As part of this Winter Update, players can also look forward to Lv. 3 Link Skills for all jobs, guaranteed Dawn and Pitched Accessories from bosses, restoration options via Star Cores or Boss Missions, and an expanded Familiar System introducing Mystic Frontier missions.
