Brendan Gleeson (“Spider-Noir”), Jennifer Jason Leigh (“Crime 101”), Hamish Linklater (“The Boys: Gen V”), Sam Spruell (“The Dog Stars”) and Jamie Demetriou (“Pride and Prejudice”) have all boarded the live-action “Far Cry” TV series for FX.
“Fargo,” “Legion” and “Alien: Earth” creator Noah Hawley is behind the show, which teams him with “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and “Welcome to Wrexham” star/producer Rob Mac.
Steve Buscemi, Lizzy Caplan and Mac lead the cast of this first season of the anthology series based on the popular video game franchise.
The games follow the player who is usually put into a wilderness environment of some sort (several tropical islands, East Africa, the Himalayas, Montana) where they must fight against one or more despots that control the region as well as survive against the local wildlife.
Details on each actor’s role aren’t being released at present but Leigh, Linklater and Spruell have all worked with Hawley in the past.
Each season will have a new setting and new cast, so it’s not clear if any of the characters being played here will survive the full season.
