
A 14-year-old girl has been arrested and charged after a ‘serious assault’ at a school in Aberdeen left a younger girl injured.
Emergency services found a 12-year-old girl injured at Hazlehead Academy, a secondary school, around 10.30 am yesterday morning.
The young girl was taken to the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital for treatment and has since been released.
Now, police have confirmed a 14-year-old girl was arrested and charged in connection with the assault.
A spokesperson confirmed: ‘A 14-year-old girl has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault in Groats Road, Aberdeen.
‘The incident happened around 10.30 am on Thursday, 24 April, 2025. A 12-year-old girl was taken to Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital for treatment and has since been released.
‘The 14-year-old will be reported to the relevant authorities.’

Earlier this week, three boys were arrested after a 15-year-old was stabbed at a secondary school in east London.
The victim was stabbed at the Bobby Moore Academy, near Queen Elizabeth Park in Stratford.
He was taken to the hospital with a stab wound to the leg, but his injuries aren’t thought to be life-threatening, police say.
The Metropolitan Police said three boys are in custody after being arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
Bobby Moore Academy is part of the David Ross Education Trust. It’s an all-through school, serving pupils from primary school up to sixth form.
A spokesperson for the school told ITV: ‘One of our students needed hospital treatment and we are expecting they will make a full recovery.
