Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future in Milwaukee has been in question ever since the Bucks crashed out in the first round against the Pacers. This was the franchise’s third straight early playoffs exit and many believe this constant failure could motivate The Greek Freak to seek a trade this summer. Per veteran insider Shams Charania, this is the first time in his career Giannis is seriously reconsidering his future with the team. Amid the buzzing rumors, speculations are that Warriors could swoop in and acquire the Bucks star to pair him with Stephen Curry.

The Bay Area team’s second round exit exposed their multiple glaring weaknesses. Biggest one – lack of size. In both rounds, the opposing teams’ big men caused major trouble for Steve Kerr’s squad, and they had to rely on a 6’6 Draymond Green to protect the paint in majority of the games. The other issue – Lack of scoring. When Steph injured his hamstring in Game 1 against Wolves, the Warriors had no one to consistently share the scoring load with Jimmy Butler. Adding Giannis could be the solution to both these problems.

Well, the Bucks star made his impact even clearer by highlighting an impressive stat in his latest tweet. Turns out, Giannis is the league’s leading scorer over the last ten seasons, with 18,983 points. In 701 total games, he has averaged 27.1 points. Not too shabby for someone who is constantly criticized for not having a reliable jumper. Sending a strong message, Giannis wrote, “Not a scorer just a basketball player.”

When you hear the names he has topped with his scoring, the accomplishment sounds even more impressive. Of course, there is Steph at number six, with 16,672 points, averaging 27.3 points with nearly a hundred less games than Giannis. Just a rank above is LeBron James, with 17,271 points. Others in the top ten – James Harden, Nikola Jokic, Damian Lillard, and more. While not many would deem Giannis the best scorer in the league, these numbers certainly tell a different story. Surely, having a player like him on the roster would turn the Warriors into instant title contenders. But can they really afford him?
