In the 2020s, the macabre and supernatural have thrived in the realm of television comedy. FX's What We Do in the Shadows ran for six acclaimed seasons, following the vampires of Staten Island until they went their separate ways in 2024, while CBS thrived with the U.S. remake of Ghosts, which is still going strong with the spirits of Woodstone Manor heading into Season 6 next year. No series has found as much instant success, though, as Apple TV's Widow's Bay. Season 1 of the Katie Dipold-created horror comedy aired earlier this year and was roundly lauded by critics and audiences, culminating in a massive haul of 14 Emmys, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Lead Actor for Matthew Rhys. One of the residents of the titular town is now about to reunite with the Ghosts team for their latest foray into the supernatural.
