If there’s one thing we know about new Coronation Street characters, it’s that they’re never going to arrive without hiding one or two secrets.
When Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) met Theo (James Cartwright) he was immediately taken in by him, but even from the word go, Theo was giving off mixed signals.
He told Todd that he isn’t gay but that evening, Todd found him on a dating app.
In recent episodes, he has been spending more time with Todd but it’s been happening in secret, and Theo has continued to decrease the chance of being spotted by someone he knows by arriving to see Todd through the back door.

It’s all a bit weird and in upcoming episodes, the push/pull dynamic continues when Theo apologises for his recent behaviour, and tells Todd that he really likes him.
Later, while at the funeral parlour, Todd is surprised when Theo enters and tells him that he’s there to arrange a funeral. Moments later, Todd makes another discovery that changes how he sees Theo entirely.
Unsure about what to do next, Todd opens up to Billy (Daniel Brocklebank), who says he should steer well clear of Theo.
But will Todd listen?
Discussing his character, James Cartwright said: ‘I think Theo is a good guy, he comes in with the best of intentions, as most people do, but he may upset some people with his behaviour.’

‘I had a line the other day where I said: “I think I left my trousers in the bedroom” so make of that what you will.’
‘I was very excited, a lot of my memories growing up as a young boy were settling down with my gran after tea, she’d make me a crumpet and we’d sit there and watch Corrie.
‘I feel like it’s a great honour to be a part of something that’s brought joy to people for so long.’
