The May Day bank holiday is almost here, and it will come as a welcome relief to those who will be able to enjoy three days off work.

But if you need to nip to the supermarket at any point, you might be wondering whether they will be open this weekend.

Some supermarket opening times can vary from store to store as well because of the bank holiday.

To save you turning up at your local supermarket only to find a closed sign, we’ve put together a handy guide.

When is ASDA open on May Day bank holiday?

ASDA stores will be open as usual this bank holiday weekend.

Opening times can vary by store, so if you want to double check individual store opening times you can do so using the store locator.

When is Co-op open over May Day bank holiday?

Co-ops can vary a lot in size, from medium-sized stores to teeny tiny petrol station spots.

Co-op will be open as usual over the May bank holiday with the majority of Co-op convenience stores being open from 7am-10pm.

Saturday: 8am – 10pm Sunday: 10am – 4pm Bank Holiday Monday: 8am – 8pm

Lidl will be open this weekend and will follow regular opening hours.

When is Morrisons open over May Day bank holiday?

Morrisons has said that its Scottish stores will be open as usual and the rest of the stores will be open from 7am to 8pm. Some other stores will be open slightly longer.

Most Sainsbury’s stores will be open from 8am until 8pm on bank holiday Monday and the smaller convenience stores will be open from 7am until 11pm.
