Madelene Sagstrom is looking to take home the TPC Boston title
On Friday at TPC Boston, Miranda Wang’s wait finally ended with a clutch short birdie putt that wrapped up her 5-under 67. This impressive round gave her a two-shot lead among those who completed their second rounds in the rain-delayed FM Championship. The day was a marathon, quite literally, with Wang taking around 10 hours to finish due to repeated rain delays.
Before the suspended round picked up again, Madelene Sagstrom was hot on Wang’s heels, sitting at 9 under after carding consistent rounds of 69 and 66. A win in Boston would mark a milestone for Sagstrom, making her the LPGA’s first multiple winner of the season. But as she waited for the rain to stop, that wasn’t the only thing on her mind.

“I kept refreshing the scores over there. That was my first mission. Then everyone sits and watched the radar, like what’s going to happen,” Sagstrom said of the several Friday round delays. She didn’t eat at first, hoping for the weather to calm down and for her to return to the game, but when the horn blew, “I was like, well now I’ll eat something. I don’t really like playing on a super full stomach,” she added. Regardless, she will be looking to remain in contention with the second round back in motion.
Nelly Korda, on the other hand, had only played four holes on Friday when the horn blew and the LPGA announced the suspension. She finished her first round with a score of 67, while still in search of her first 2025 win. Still, despite the absence of many top pros, the competition at TPC Boston is as tough as it could get.
