This is the moment a car ‘exploded’ on a road where Keir Starmer owned a £2m home, triggering an investigation by anti-terror police.
The neighbour and the owner of the gutted vehicle believed the incident was caused by a faulty battery, but given another blaze at the house where the prime minister had lived and now rents out, a full inquiry was launched by counter-terror detectives.
Shocking images show the car engulfed in flames after locals were woken by ‘bangs like an explosion’.
Images of the aftermath show the charred wreckage of the Rav 4.
The vehicle was completely destroyed.

A neighbour said: ‘There were bangs and a huge fire. My bike was parked next to the car, its tyre was split by the heat, it was very shocking.’
Another said: ‘’It was crazy, there were proper big flames you could feel the heat coming off.’
Another neighbour added: ‘It was like an inferno the car was completely destroyed.
‘There were loads of bangs and the cracking sounds from the heat.
‘We had heard there had been other fires on the same type of vehicles and assumed it was a fault on the car.’
