Tributes have been paid to a ‘super nice and helpful’ man who suffered fatal stab wounds at his east London home.

The victim, named locally as Hasan, died in Pickard Close, Mile End, last week where had lived with his family for at least a decade.

Neighbours told Metro he had always helped out locals, carrying shopping for pensioners and offering to do odd jobs.

The incident happened at around 1.30pm on Wednesday, April 30. Paramedics battled to save Hasan but he died at the scene.

One neighbour said: ‘He was a super nice, helpful young man. He would carry shopping for people and offer to help whenever needed. Once there was some rubbish on the street which was worrying me and he said “no problem I’ll sort it”.

‘He was kind and good fun. He would joke around with the local kids he will be missed by us all. To see the family laying flowers to him is so sad, he was so young.’

Flowers, candles and framed pictures of Hasan have been left at the crime scene in his memory.

A condolence card from family members said ‘you will be so missed’.

A second neighbour told Metro: ‘His family are lovely, they will be heartbroken. They have lived here for many years. They have been good neighbours, no problem at all. A lot of people hand come to pay their respects that’s how nice he was.’

A boy, 16, has been arrested on suspicion of murder. A woman, 25, was also injured during the incident and initially arrested but later released.

A woman, 41, was also detained but later released.

Detectives and forensics specialists trawled the scene for clues and the house remained behind a police cordon for 48 hours.
