First Doping Test Results for Amanda Serrano Released Before Katie Taylor Trilogy Fight

As the torchbearer of women’s boxing, Amanda Serrano has always upheld the sport, not only with her outstanding boxing skills but also for her strict professional conduct. Nothing exemplifies this more than when she enrolled with VADA last year. However, her fight against PEDs started in 2019, before her bout against Heather Hardy. It was the first women’s boxing event to feature random drug testing under the WBC Clean Boxing Program.

In that 2019 bout, while Hardy tested positive for the banned substance Lasix, Serrano’s test came back clean. Since then, ‘The Real Deal’ has consistently shared her VADA results publicly, proving her dedication to clean boxing. Now, as she prepares for her pivotal trilogy bout against Katie Taylor, the Puerto Rican has again posted her test results, showing she’s ready to face her biggest challenge yet.

Amanda Serrano has yet not managed to win against Katie Taylor, falling short in both of their previous encounters. Determined to rewrite history, Serrano is preparing for their trilogy fight and recently shared her first drug test results on X. She posted her VADA Results with the caption, “1st of many @Vada_Testing results be for my Trilogy.”

The test, conducted on March 15, 2025, showed no performance-enhancing drugs in either her A or B samples. As mentioned by Serrano, there will be a few more tests before the fight, and she vowed to keep fans updated. “I make it my business to always post my results for every testing they do. ,” she wrote.

While The Bray Bomber does not post her tests online, she also has been enrolled with VADA for a year now. Both fighters have consistently prioritized the sport’s integrity, making their commitment even more crucial as they headline the first all-women’s boxing PPV at the iconic Madison Square Garden.

Most of the boxing community is electrified for MVP’s groundbreaking July 11 PPV, a significant step in elevating women’s boxing to a wider audience. However, not everyone shares the excitement, as some critics remain skeptical of the event’s impact.

‘An all-women’s PPV will be weird’

In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, comedian and actor Andrew Schulz shared his blunt thoughts on the July 11 PPV and he was not kind. “Think it’s weird doing an all-girl card,” he stated. Schulz argued that the event’s main draw is the Katie Taylor-Amanda Serrano fight, not the fact that it’s an all women’s PPV.

“I think one of the coolest things about [Katie Taylor & Amanda Serrano] headlining is that despite them being women, they would be the headlining fight…To me, that’s the super flex, not that it’s like all one gender. This is the first card of all women, who cares?” he stated, shrugging off the historic nature of the event.

The comedian added that he wants to see good boxing, regardless of gender. And “making it a gender thing, to me, it undersells how big that’s gonna be,” he concluded. While Schulz has a right to his view, his comments might spark backlash and we can expect a reply from Amanda Serrano soon.
