Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael locked in a ‘phoney war’ as campaign sparring starts

It was not a good start to the general election campaigns in Galway West. Last week, ­Social Democrats candidate Cllr ­Eibhlín Seoighthe admitted she was “woefully unprepared” in an interview on Galway Bay FM. The newly elected councillor struggled to answer questions on the finer details on topics such as health, housing and local priorities.
