Favorite Common Room!

I know I’ve done an article in the past about which common room from Hogwarts is the coziest. However, in this article I’m going to go over which common room from Hogwarts I like based on what I viewed from the Hogwarts: Legacy video game (I’ve played the game on the PS4 when it came out and then continued playing it on the Nintendo Switch when it came out).

Gryffindor = We got to see this common room quite a bit during the movies due to the fact that Harry, along with his friends Hermione and Ron, was sorted into Gryffindor but we only got to see bits and pieces of it. This common room seems to be the smallest out of all of them so it would seem to be cramped when there are quite a few people in there (and I don’t like cramped). We also have to deal with lots of stairs when heading off to your respective dormitory depending on what year you’re in. Now, when I was a kid, I thought it would be cool to get to walk up and down stairs. Now that I’m an adult, I’ve found that I would rather not walk up or down stairs.

Ravenclaw = This one also has the problem with stairs going into the different dormitories. I would rather not deal with that, especially after a long, tedious day. I’m afraid I’d be too tired to deal with that. However, my favorite color is blue and there were more books/reading material sitting around the common room so I feel a little more at home in this common room. Also, this one seemed a little larger than Gryffindor’s but I feel like not as big as the others.

Slytherin = Now, this is one of those common rooms that doesn’t have a bunch of stairs in it. There is only one set of stairs and it was leading to what looked like the 7th year dormitories so you wouldn’t have to worry about climbing those stairs until you reached your final year of school. This one is a little darker in ambience compared to some of the other common rooms……actually it’s probably the darkest one but that doesn’t bother me. This one is located underneath the lake, which you can see through a window in one corner of the common room. It might be nice getting to see what creatures inhabit that lake around Hogwarts but I wouldn’t want to see that glass breaking and all that water flooding the common room.

Hufflepuff = This one doesn’t have any stairs at all (Hallelujah!!). This one is a little more light and airy when compared to some of the other common rooms. Also, common room feels the warmest of all of them. The only thing I’m unsure of is all the plants everywhere…..I’m not sure how much that would affect my allergies. Don’t get me wrong, I think they’re pretty and they work well with the rest of the ambience in that common room. They look right at home there.

I just loved exploring during the game and that includes the common room/dormitories areas. That was something I was looking forward to when Hogwarts: Legacy came out last year. We only got to see Gryffindor’s common room during the movies (except for one brief scene in Slytherin common room in the second movie) so it was nice to get to explore them properly during the game. So, which one ended up being my favorite? I’m going to have go with Hufflepuff on this one. No stairs to contend with after a long day and it seems like it would be warmer in there, especially during the colder months of the year. Slytherin’s common room was a close second though.
