M&SWe talk about sex a lot here at HuffPost, so we’re obviously in favour of anything that makes us feel good.
The only problem is, there are a million and one things getting in the way of partnered sex right now: from an increase in stress, spending way too much time on our phones, and a plethora of sexual wellness conditions like vaginal dryness and erectile dysfunction on the rise.
For centuries, we’ve considered sex and sensuality (love that Jane Austen book) as something that happens between two people – but slowly, we’re beginning to increasingly see it as an option in our private lives, too.
No one is pushing the boundaries on this more than lingerie brand Coco de Mer. In case you haven’t heard of them (where have you been?!) the London-based brand creates some of the most gorgeous lingerie out there (along with some lush sex toys).
When it comes to lingerie, its owner and CEO Lucy Litwack believes there’s no such a special occasion. In fact, beautiful lingerie can (and should) be worn everyday: “I always found it so surprising when people thought that lingerie was something that women wore for somebody else,” she says about the collection.
“When actually, it’s the only item of clothing that we wear that no one else can see unless we choose to show it to them. It’s our secret power.”
While Coco de Mer prices generally fall anywhere between £100-£400, its collaboration with M&S brings the average price point down to £40, making sensuality all the more accessible – whether it’s with a lover, or by yourself.
