A new update confirms the release date window for Fallout Season 2, with the series set to return this year. The upcoming season will bring back Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, Aaron Moten, and Kyle MacLachlan in their respective roles. It will continue the story in Amazon’s post-apocalyptic universe and expand its connection to the New Vegas setting.
Fallout Season 2’s release date to arrive before 2026
At its annual upfront presentation in New York City, Amazon Prime Video announced a December 2025 premiere for Fallout Season 2. The streamer also confirmed the show’s renewal for Season 3.
Filming recently wrapped despite production delays caused by the L.A. fires earlier this year. Cast members Purnell, Moten, and Goggins revealed the release window and celebrated the show’s ongoing success at the event.
“On behalf of our brilliant cast and crew, our showrunners [Geneva Robertson-Dworet] and [Graham Wagner], and our partners at Bethesda, we’re grateful to our incredible collaborators at Amazon MGM Studios and to the amazing fans as we continue our adventures in the wasteland together,” executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy stated. Season 2 will continue from the events of Season 1, which premiered on April 10, 2024. The show, which is based on the Bethesda game franchise, attracted over 100 million viewers globally. The finale teased the introduction of New Vegas. Season 2 could explore locations such as the Lucky 38 Casino and Dinky the T-Rex. Mr. House (or Robert House) is expected to appear in the storyline.
Prime Video has listed Fallout as one of its top three most-watched titles. The platform renewed Season 3 early, showing strong confidence in the series’ performance.
Other than Purnell (Lucy MacLean), Goggins (The Ghoul), and Moten (Maximus), Kyle MacLachlan (Hank MacLean) will also return in Season 2 in December 2025.
