FALLEN MasterChef host Gregg Wallace has blamed ready meals for the UK’s obesity crisis – weeks after launching a range of microwaveable grub.
He’s knocking out £8 a time frozen ready meals like curries from his Gregg Wallace Health sideline that take eight minutes to cook.

But in his most recent blog on his site, the host wrote: “We live now in an age where food is available to us 24 hours of the day.
“Now some may say this is a good thing, it’s progress. Some could well argue that being able to phone for your meals or grab a ready-made meal that just needs to be microwaved or even grabbing for a sandwich, is a positive thing.
“The obvious problem with this is, the rise of the snack and the takeaway culture has gone hand in hand with the rise of obesity and record numbers of type two diabetes.”
He launched the range in January and single meals are £8 or buyers can purchase eight for £60.
Gregg said: “Delicious, Nutritious Ready Meals that taste so good you might not believe they’re healthy!
“Order your ‘Made for You’ meals today. We currently deliver on Wednesdays & Fridays only.
“Kick start your New Year’s resolution with delicious, healthy and filling meals. Note: We don’t currently deliver to the Scottish Highlands, Channel Islands, or Northern Ireland.”
Gregg tells would-be buyers of a chicken curry: “Experience a flavourful and satisfying meal with our homemade frozen Chicken & Mushroom Curry.
“Made with spicy chicken and savoury mushrooms, this 500g ready meal also includes nutritious brown rice.
“Perfect for a quick and delicious dinner option.”
The 60-year-old was dropped last year as the host of MasterChef after a raft of complaints about lewd and inappropriate behaviour were levelled at him by female contestants.
His conduct is currently being probed by telly bosses.
Gregg Wallace - MasterChef scandal in Brief

GREGG Wallace has stepped down from his MasterChef hosting role after a probe into alleged inappropriate behaviour. But what's the situation?
Regular MasterChef host Gregg Wallace is currently the subject of a probe after an investigation was launched into his alleged misconduct over a number of years.
Gregg has been accused of making sexual remarks to 13 colleagues including Beeb anchor Kirsty Wark – accusations he denies.
The 60-year-old has now stepped away from the BBC show while historical misconduct allegations against him are investigated.
Yet the former greengrocer spoke out on social media to blast the “women of a certain age” who he claimed were behind the allegations.
The cooking show’s production company, Banijay UK, has said law firm Lewis Silkin would lead the investigation into Wallace’s alleged misconduct.
