Aside from Robin Hood, perhaps the most cursed piece of intellectual property is Dracula. For the longest time, studios have struggled to update these properties for a contemporary audience. The curse seems to be continuing for Robin Hood, a centuries-old property that, in recent years, has inspired Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe's big-budget misfire, a character study headlined by Hugh Jackman, and an action-packed flop starring Taron Egerton. The curse broke briefly for Dracula, thanks to Robert Eggers' critical and commercial smash Nosferatu, but not before several movies had succumbed to it in the span of a decade. Among these Dracula flops was Dracula Untold, starring Luke Evans, and the horror-comedy Renfield, in which Nicolas Cage played the legendary character. But there was another Dracula movie that debuted theatrically a few years ago, and now it's headed to a new streaming home.
