The Evil Dead Burn cast is beginning to come together, with Deadline reporting that three actors have been added to the cast.
Who has joined the Evil Dead Burn cast?
Hunter Doohan, who most notably stars in the Netflix series Wednesday and also appeared in Daredevil: Born Again, will star in the upcoming movie. Alongside him, Deadline also reported that Luciane Buchana (The Night Agent) and Tandi Wright (Pearl) have joined onto the film.
The trio join Souheila Yacoub in the next movie, which is set to be directed by Sébastien Vaniček and written by Florent Bernard.
Currently, nothing is known about Evil Dead Burn, but Vaniček did tell French website Konbini earlier this year that the film would be “nasty,” and his hope is to make audiences come away from the film feeling “tested.”
“I told the studio that I wanted to make a nasty film, a film that hurts, from which you come away tested,” Vaniček said. “I’m going to put all the horror I have inside, it will be cathartic, and if I haven’t ruined my career and I can continue to make films behind it, I will move on to something other than horror!”
Prior to his work on the new Evil Dead movie, Vaniček directed the 2023 horror film Infested, which he also co-wrote alongside Bernard.
The film will follow up Lee Cronin’s Evil Dead Rise, which was released in 2023 to massive success. An untitled seventh Evil Dead is also in the works and set to be written and directed by Francis Galluppi, but nothing is known about that project as of now.
The Evil Dead franchise began in 1981 with Raimi’s original film and was subsequently followed up by two sequels, Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness. The series took a brief hiatus until 2013 when Fede Álvarez revived the franchise with a re-imagined film.
