“Reggie Miller not exactly putting on a broadcasting clinic in these final minutes” wrote Sports Illustrated media reporter Jimmy Traina during the Knicks-Celtics Game 1 matchup a few days ago. As it turned out, Traina was the one being generous, as several other analysts, and NBA fans, were criticizing Miller’s commentary throughout the game!

It wasn’t the first time that it happened, which is a surprise when you consider the fact that the former player of the Michael Jordan era has been with TNT since 2005, aka the same year he officially retired from the NBA. Having established a broadcasting career alongside his sister for 2 decades, one would have expected that with experience came excellence. Unfortunately, Miller keeps faltering and doesn’t seem to have learned his lesson even now.

The New York Knicks and Boston Celtics squared off once again at TD Garden for Game 2, but the matchup wasn’t the only thing stirring conversation. Reggie Miller, on commentary duty, seemed to be inviting another round of criticism from fans.

During one sequence, Jalen Brunson was visibly seen grabbing Kristaps Porzingis’ leg as he attempted a layup—an act that typically borders on a foul. Yet, rather than address the questionable contact, Miller instead praised the play, saying, “Look as he holds Porzingis’ knee—beautiful move by Brunson.” That wasn’t the only eyebrow-raising moment. Throughout the game, Miller appeared to show an unusual amount of favoritism toward Brunson, despite the guard not having one of his better outings.

Amidst all this, fans knew that enough was enough. They couldn’t go through with the commentary without making their true opinions known.

NBA Community takes a negative stance against Reggie Miller’s commentary: “What the hell is he even talking about”.

One social media user wrote, “Reggie Miller is actually the worst commentator I’ve ever seen. What the hell is he even talking about”.
