Brian Cox did not hold back with his latest tirade against Nigel Farage.

The Succession actor, 79, has never shied away from being vocal about his political opinions over the years, as well as his dislike for the Reform leader.

He had branded the politician everything from a ‘phoney’ to a ‘bully’ over the years, and most recently, ‘selfish’ and ‘quite uninformed.’

During an appearance on BBC One programme Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg, he unleashed hell one year after sparking an impartiality row on the show due to a similar rant.

He branded Farage ‘slightly fascist’, with some viewers calling for the BBC to step in during the live TV moment.

Here, we take a look back at some of the most blistering comments Cox has made about Farage…

Branding him a ‘little Englander’

Back in 2018, Cox slammed Brexit and Farage along with Boris Johnson, Michael Gove, Jacob Rees-Mogg, and David Cameron in an interview with Alastair Campbell.

He said, ‘That f****r Farage… Johnson with all his f*****g lies… Cameron, what a stupid f*****g thing to do.’

‘The opportunistic clowns of Brexit, Gove, Johnson and the little Englander Farage and the feudalist Rees-Mogg have not shown an iota of [Winston] Churchill’s vision and Wisdom.’

Writing in the New European, Campbell said that Cox continued: ‘It makes my blood boil, all the lies, all the promises that aren’t going to be kept.

‘That f****r Farage with his phoney man of the people act, and Johnson pretending that this is the right thing for the country, when the whole thing was a vehicle for him to become Prime Minister.

‘Brexit makes me so sad about what we have become as a country, and now all that rubbish about Big Ben bongs and new 50p coins and Johnson saying “let’s all put it behind us and get along together.” F**k off.’

When he called him ‘slightly fascist’

In June 2024, Cox appeared on the BBC One programme Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg to discuss the latest goings-on in the world of politics with the host and fellow guests the Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham and former Tory culture secretary Nadine Dorries.

Speaking on the BBC programme, he said: ‘I really do worry about the Conservatives.

‘I also think that Nigel Farage is not doing any good at all. I mean, he’s really ruining that party. If I was a Conservative voter, I would really be worried about what’s happening to my party.

‘I’m not a Conservative, and I never will be a Conservative voter, I’d just like to state that first and foremost, but I do worry about his influence. And I find him slightly fascist quite frankly.’

His on-air attack calling him a ‘selfish, venal bully’

Cox returned to the show this week and launched another blistering rant about Farage.

During a conversation with Farage, Kuenssberg questioned him over his plans if he were to enter 10 Downing Street, as well as grilling him over his tax returns, telling her guest that his ‘tax and business affairs aren’t exactly straightforward’.

Farage took opposition to Kuenssberg’s line of questioning, telling the presenter: ‘I take objection to the very premise of that question,’ while also saying that he refuses to make his personal tax returns public.

Straight after the interview with Farage was shown on the programme, Kuenssberg turned to the guests she had in the studio, including Cox.

‘Yeah, I don’t mean incredible in a positive way – I think incredible in a negative way,’ he said.

‘I find him very venal, quite honestly, as an individual. He’s selfish, and he’s on the whole quite uninformed.

‘I just am dazzled at the way a lot of people have been seduced by him, because he’s a bit of a bully – you can tell at the way he conducted that interview with you. I thought a lot of it was just badgering, badgering, badgering. I just don’t trust the man.’
