Varada Sethu's Belinda Chandra and her debut in Doctor Who season 15 quickly gave Ncuti Gatwa's version of the show's titular Time Lord his second companion, and it's obvious that she's a much better fit than Millie Gibson's Ruby Sunday was. The idea that every Doctor has a "true" companion stems from most versions of the Time Lord traveling with various people during various eras in their lives. While there's often a good reason a companion steps into the TARDIS, there's usually a clear winner when it comes to who is better suited to each version of the Doctor.
