Laura Rutledge showed up in red lace and reminded everyone she’s in a league of her own! As NFL Live, which Rutledge hosts, took home the Sports Emmy Award for Outstanding Studio Show—Daily, she has once again proved that she is a top talent in sports broadcasting. And, she made her name resonate among other notable presenters like Charissa Thompson (Prime Video) and Greg Olsen (Fox Sports). Going head-to-head with the likes of Pardon the Interruption, Good Morning Football, and The Dan Patrick Show was not easy. But NFL Live brought it home, and Rutledge let the world know what it meant.
Rutledge took to express her gratitude, writing, “Nothing makes me happier than watching our team shine. Congrats to all who touch #NFLLive. You made this possible.” Thanking her team, she wrote, “So proud of our crew and overjoyed they were rewarded for tireless hard work. This is a family and those of you who have loyally tuned in are our energy source .”
As she posted a string of photos from the event, she turned heads in a red dress with a sweetheart neckline, thin spaghetti straps, and full-length red lace that hugged her frame like it was made just for her. With it, she paired matching lace sleeves draped from mid-arm to wrist.
Laura also took to X to post a heartfelt message, writing, “An honor I couldn’t have imagined… This is for all of those behind the scenes that make this work every day.” Her co-hosts, including Dan Orlovsky, joined in on the celebration, with a reposted IG Story from @pat_spinosa, as they pose in front of a bookshelf with crossed arms. The caption reads, “Mood after winning a Sports Emmy last night… Congrats @dorlovsky @lauramrutledge and the rest of the crew!”
This win wasn’t solo. NFL Live is a crew, with Dan Orlovsky, Marcus Spears, Mina Kimes, and Ryan Clark besides Laura. And they know how to make football fun, smart, and real. The Emmy just made it official. And, as she made the big win, her husband, Josh Rutledge, has the sweetest message for her.
Laura Rutledge’s husband posts a heartwarming message
Born in Atlanta, raised near Blue Mountain Beach, Florida, Laura Rutledge split her early life between homeschooling and a charter school in Seaside. When she hit the University of Florida, there were no open radio gigs except one, in sports. She took it, without knowing the difference between a tight end and a tackle. But she polished herself and the rest is history.
Before ESPN happened, she was Miss Florida 2012. When she got her first job, she covered the Tampa Bay Rays with Fox Sports Florida. Then she moved to San Diego, where she covered the Padres and hosted her own show.
Ultimately, she joined ESPN in 2014, even though some executives told her she was “too young.” From a beach town in Florida to winning on the biggest stage in sports television, she has truly notched it. And her husband is proud of her, letting the world know about it.
Laura has been hosting NFL Live since 2020. Amidst this, her husband, former MLB player Josh Rutledge, took to social media to share a warm message for her. Josh wrote, “@lauramrutledge bringing home the hardware tonight! Congratulations to NFL Live on their well deserved Emmy tonight! So proud of you.”
Josh Rutledge played for the Colorado Rockies and the Boston Red Sox. He retired after the 2017 season with a career .258 batting average, 20 home runs, and 111 RBIs. Indeed, he has won the hearts of his fans, celebrating her big win on the well-deserved honor.
