As the Chicago Cubs faced off against the New York Mets, all eyes were on the Cubs’ 23-year-old pitcher as he made his debut in Major League Baseball. And while all MLB debuts are phenomenal, when the player’s family is in the stands, it’s a different kind of beautiful. For a moment, all the injury woes amid the Cubs blurred as fans witnessed the pitcher on the mound.
FOX Sports captured the Chicago Cubs’ top pitcher, Cade Horton’s, debut. And more than his first appearance on the major league mound, it was his parents’ presence that made the real magic. His parents, siblings, and even his niece were right there, celebrating his debut.

Ken Rosenthal took this opportunity to ask his parents, “What is it like for you watching your son make a major league debut?” His father, quick to respond, beautifully stated, “Just kind of surreal as parents. It’s a lifelong dream for him.”
Cade’s mom, sitting right there, revealed that she was in a parking lot when she found out that her son had been called up for the majors. Naturally, she didn’t want to miss it. For sure, Horton’s debut is a dream realized with his entire family in the stands rooting for him.
