You have to be special if you gain name and fame in two different areas in one life. And the Giants legend, Super Bowl winner Michael Strahan is one of them. After earning popularity in the NFL, he became famous as a TV personality. He has been a part of many TV shows and hosted many like Good Morning America. That’s crazy. But when you spend 9 long years with any crew for any show and it closes down, you can’t help but get emotional while bidding goodbye. That’s what happened on Sunday, May 11.
The legend wrapped the shoot of the last episode of season 8 of The $100,000 Pyramid on ABC. This marks the closure of the game show with no notice of further seasons by SMAC Productions. While talking to his crew behind the scenes, he said, “You’re appreciated. I love you. I am thankful for season 8.” The crew cheered with a whoooo.
Michael Strahan couldn’t control his emotions as he further added, “It never gets boring sitting around here and be with you because you make what’s really been. The greatest thing about it when I am somewhere and people come and say ‘we love watching Pyramid and not just for themselves but watch it with family. Thank you all so much. Everybody, have a great night.”
The Giants superstar was the binding force between the celebrities and two ordinary people, as they all tried to sort the words and reach the $100k prize money. This year, the season premiered on March 9 with filmmaker & actor Mark Duplass vs comedian Pete Holmes, and actress Laverne Cox vs comedian-actor Thomas Lennon.
During the show, the genuine character of Michael Strahan stood out. One moment, he is wooing the audience with his swagger, another moment, he is joking around with the celebrities and other contestants. As soon as the game gets real, he gets focused, trying to help them win the money. With more time on his hands now, he might use it to get involved with the Giants franchise more.
Michael Strahan aiming to be an NFL owner
Although the Giants’ legend retired long ago in 2007 and the franchise paid him their respect by retiring the jersey number 92, Tom Brady motivated him to be just more than a legend. A minority owner! Last year, the league approved Brady’s ownership stake in LV Raiders, it’s time for the former defensive end now.
The news first broke out in February when the owners, John Mara and Steve Tisch, wanted to sell 10% stake. They wanted only 2 or 3 buyers. That’s when Michael Strahan saw the opportunity and is actively trying to become a minority owner with Marc Lasry, former owner of the Milwaukee Bucks.
Former QB Eli Manning is also trying to put up an in vestment group. To get a whiff of air around the stake, Strahan even visited the team facility after their rookie minicamp. He was seen watching the rookies in action and talking to HC Brian Daboll and GM Joe Schoen. He is popular and has a firm stance. Will he get to start a new chapter in the league? We will know it by the end of this year.
