May 22–24 at the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl, 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships. A three-day spectacle brought together the nation’s fiercest collegiate athletes, each chasing glory on the grandest stage in Division II track and field. The meet has witnessed record record-breaking performance from a 20-year-old track athlete. Who is he, and what records did she break?

The official X account of NCAA Division II took to X to announce, “Alexis Brown of @LRbears breaks the DII and meet record and secures the 2025 DII Outdoor Women’s 200m National Championship!” In the three-day event, she has already taken the center stage. To start with, on May 22, 2025, she donned all white and took her mark on the track to create history in the 200 meters.

As soon as the gunfire cracked the silence in the atmosphere, Brown was quicker than anybody else on the track. While the rest of the sprinters competed for number 2, Brown was cruising for the win in lane number seven, nobody even came close to her. Towards the end, the commentator announced, “And first off the curve, well out in front, Alexis Brown is leaving everybody behind. (0:25) And can’t wait to see this time. Alexis Brown 22.35.With this, the 20-year-old not only recorded her personal best but also broke the D2 record for the 200 meters.

Before her, the NCAA Division II Women’s 200-meter record was held by Danielle Williams of Johnson C. Smith University– 22.62 seconds recorded on May 25, 2013. The next target for Brown? The hundred meters. On May 24, 2025, she participated in the women’s 100m to break more records. She went sub-11 to break a DII and Meet record and secure the 2025 DII Outdoor National Championship in the 100m. She clocked a time of 10.93. The previous record of 11.18 was set in 2009 by Semoy Hackett of Lincoln University and Barbara Pierre of St. Augustine’s University.
