Doctor Whois a show that has always managed to evolve, whether through the concept of "regeneration," which allows different actors to inhabit the mantle of the Doctor, or through recent revivals. Even now, the series is about to undergo another evolution, as the BBC has put it out to competitive tender in hopes that another production company will give it a modern refresh. However, the biggest change that Doctor Who made in 52 years happened during the Season 9 episode "Sleep No More," which put Peter Capaldi's Twelfth Doctor in the middle of a horror movie.
