Denzel Washington’s 89% Rotten Tomatoes Crime Thriller Finally Takes Down Guy Ritchie Blockbuster

The long-awaited fifth collaboration between director Spike Lee and star Denzel Washington, Highest 2 Lowest, debuted on Apple TV+ this week after a grand premiere at Cannes and a limited release in theaters. As expected, the movie immediately jumped to the top of the charts, unseating longtime champion Fountain of Youth, the action-adventure film directed by Guy Ritchie. Highest 2 Lowest is a crime drama remake of Akira Kurosawa’s High and Low, which itself was based on an American novel titled “King’s Ransom.”
