Ryan Reynolds has responded to the new Deadpool VR voice actor with a hilarious video. Neil Patrick Harris, widely known for portraying the titular character in Doogie Howser, M.D. and Barney Stinson in How I Met Your Mother, has been revealed as the Deadpool voice actor in the upcoming Meta Quest 3 and 3S game Marvel’s Deadpool VR. Notably, Reynolds has portrayed a live-action version of Wade Wilson / Deadpool in several projects, including four movies.

Ryan Reynolds took to YouTube and shared a video on his official channel as a response to Neil Patrick Harris’ casting as the voice of Deadpool. The video opens with Reynolds making an entry in his journal on a computer from the late ’80s and early ’90s.

This is a reference to the ending of most episodes of the ABC series, Doogie Houser, M.D., wherein Harris’ characters adds a new entry to his digital journal, reflecting on what previously happened in the episode.

In the video, Reynolds’ voiceover states while typing and dressed in a lab coat, “Today, I learned a lesson about b——– they don’t teach you in medical school. People who steal your signature role are the biggest b——– of all.”

Further, the surrounding room looks strikingly similar to Doogie’s room in the show. Reynolds adds, “No, I don’t blame Meta Quest. Neil Patrick Harris is an amazing actor with the nurturing voice of an angel, but even though I haven’t hit puberty yet, I still know when you’re getting totally s——.”

This is when Robyn Lively barges in shouting, “House Call.” Lively played Michele Faber in the second and fourth seasons of Doogie Howser, M.D. She is also the half-sister of Blake Lively, Reynolds’ wife.

Reynolds calls Lively his “girlfriend” and begins to wonder how his father will react if he sees her there. This prompts Lively to point out that he is a 48-year-old man. This then leads to a humorous back-and-forth in which Reynolds appears to remind Lively that she is being paid. The latter subsequently calls Reynolds “vindictive and stupid.” Reynolds dismisses this by saying he disagrees with that “diagnosis.”

The video then cuts to a clip from the game’s announcement trailer. Right before the video ends, Reynolds once again imitates Doogie by trying to initiate a kiss. He hesitates and says that they shouldn’t do it because she is his sister-in-law, while Lively calls him “dumb.”
