We Are Deadbeats Compilation Vol. 7 comprises 17 tracks that push bass music boldly into the future.

For the past decade, Deadbeats has stood at the forefront of bass music. Founded by Zeds Dead, the label has become a major hub for North American dubstep, trap, and genre-blurring experimental bass.

Alongside its roster of artists and releases, Deadbeats has also built a tradition around its We Are Deadbeats compilations. Released periodically, the series brings together rising talent and seasoned veterans who continue to push the boundaries of bass music. The seventh installment carries that tradition forward with 17 tracks featuring Deadbeats alumni Distinct Motive, Hydraulix, and Mary Droppinz, alongside Blurrd Vzn, rSun, Floret Loret, and many more.

We Are Deadbeats Compilation Vol. 7 expands the label’s sonic identity, moving effortlessly between deep dubstep, halftime, experimental bass, trip-hop, and hip-hop. Standout tracks include Blurrd Vzn’s “Party Rocker,” which showcases the duo’s signature blend of trap and dubstep, while Papajay delivers an emotive, driving bass cut with “Bring Me Back.” Returning artist Distinct Motive brings minimalist, hard-hitting dubstep to “The Nick,” built around deep sub bass pressure and a rowdy party atmosphere.

Hydraulix and Mary Droppinz join forces on “Right Time,” crafting an explosive bass collaboration that blends techno, trap, breaks, and dubstep while allowing both artists’ distinct styles to shine. Another hard-hitting collaboration comes from rSun and Floret Loret, who deliver the aggressive “Mind.” Wonky synths, brooding basslines, sawtooth drops, and atmospheric soundscapes bring the best of both artists together, resulting in a track that fully showcases their strengths.

We Are DeadBeats Vol. 7 continues the label’s year-long tenth anniversary celebration, following events in Miami, London, and Paris. The compilation honors Deadbeats’ contributions to bass music while keeping its focus firmly on the genre’s future. After a decade in the game, Deadbeats continues to prove that its greatest strength lies not only in celebrating where bass music has been, but in shaping where it goes next and spotlighting the artists who will help define its future.
