Dead by Daylight Adds Terrifier’s Art the Clown in 2026, Movie Finds Director

Dead by Daylight is finally getting Terrifier’s Art the Clown in the game. During a celebration of the game’s 10th anniversary, we also got an update on the upcoming movie.

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the fan-favorite horror game, Behaviour Interactive announced that the game would be welcoming Art the Clown. A Dead by Daylight: Terrifier set is set to release sometime in November, and features a Chapter dedicated fully to one of horror’s newest icons.

The Terrifier release will follow August’s release of Dead by Daylight: Chorus of Sin, the first-ever Chapter developed entirely in collaboration with the game’s community. Ahead of the fall, the game will also be welcoming in another horror icon. On June 16, 2026, the game will release Dead by Daylight: Jason, a Chapter fully dedicated to the legendary Jason Voorhees.

Shortly after that, Dead by Daylight: The Life Road will release on June 25, 2026, and feature the original character Shane Wiigwaas, the game’s first Indigenous Survivor. Alongside the new Chapters, Behaviour also gave an update on the long-awaited movie based on the game.

What is the latest Dead by Daylight movie update?

During the celebration, Behaviour Interactive Executive Vice President Stephen Mulrooney was joined by Jason Blum, who jointly revealed that Thordur Palsson (The Damned) would be directing the upcoming movie. The film, written by Alexandre Aja and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, already has its script finished. No official casting information has been made available just yet, though, so little is known about the movie as of now.

Alongside the movie information, Behaviour also shared what was to come for the future of Dead by Daylight. A sweeping visual overhaul is planned for 2027 and will include character model reworks, expanded animation capabilities, more realistic facial animations, and significant upgrades to maps and environments.
