The coming months are going to be big for Days of Our Lives as the venerable soap builds up to its 60th anniversary celebration. The soap premiered on NBC back on November 8, 1965, and as it prepares to mark its diamond anniversary, fans can expect to see plenty of drama, excitement, and romance hitting the screen. And having recently been renewed by Peacock for two more years, there’s even more to come.
Tune in Tomorrow
As the temperatures cool off, things are heating up in Salem as co-head writers Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford told TV Insider fans can look forward to “Thanksgiving/family feels with a healthy dose of Halloween mayhem thrown in for good measure.”
Naturally, such a big anniversary requires an appropriately sized event, and the scribes promise that the upcoming hospital gala will spark a new umbrella story for DAYS that will stretch into 2026. “We wanted to honor the first families of Salem with a retrospective that kicked off new stories in its aftermath,” Cwikly and Ford previewed. “There will be a hospital gala in honor of Tom Horton, which coincides with some mysterious experiments EJ is conducting in his private lab.”
The celebration will also bring some familiar faces back to town, with actors like Matthew Ashford (Jack), Maree Cheatham (Marie), Roark Critchlow (Mike), Chandler Massey (Will), Lamon Archey (Eli), Sal Stowers (Lani), Stephen Schnetzer (Steve), Alison Sweeney (Sami), and Greg Vaughan (Eric) slated to pop up in a handful of episodes this fall.
