On Friday night, the Los Angeles Dodgers will be without one of their brightest stars. Mookie Betts is out of the lineup against the New York Yankees due to a toe injury he suffered earlier this week.
It was brought to light by manager Dave Roberts that Betts stubbed his toe on Wednesday at his home. Although the severity of the injury is yet to be revealed, it’s enough to keep the veteran shortstop out of the lineup.

Betts is undergoing X-rays and will be checked on a day-to-day. In his absence, Miguel Rojas has been recalled to fill in at shortstop.
Since the beginning of this month, Betts has been putting up impressive numbers at the plate. He has recorded a .258 batting average with a .336 OBP and a .402 slugging percentage. Moreover, he’s posted 4 home runs, 12 RBIs, and 2 stolen bases across 110 plate appearances. It’s simply a testament to his overall impact on the diamond.
