Bernadette and Chee have had an on-again, off-again relationship since the beginning of Dark Winds. While they started out as star-crossed lovers, their romance quickly soured after Bernadette discovered Chee was secretly an FBI agent sent to edge in on the Navajo Tribal Police's investigation. Then, at the end of Dark Winds season 2, Chee and Bernadette kissed, only for her to leave the reservation and begin working with Border Patrol.
