In an interview with The Playlist, Charlie Cox revealed that he did not support the bank heist episode titled “With Interest” from Daredevil: Born Again, which was part of the original shoot before the 2023 strikes. “Just for my money, I wasn’t into it. I didn’t like it. It was my least favorite of the episodes,” he said, adding, “I don’t believe in a bank heist in 2025. That feels like a 1970s game. Too much technology these days for that to work.” Cox also criticized the theft device featured in the episode, calling it insufficiently sophisticated.

Despite pushing back, Cox acknowledged that the episode remains popular with viewers. “I hear from so many people that they love that episode,” he said. He added that internal ratings show it is one of the highest-rated episodes, illustrating how audience reception can differ from personal opinions.

Cox discussed the episode during a broader conversation with The Playlist about the show’s creative evolution. He described how the original version of Born Again was restructured after the WGA and SAG strikes halted production. A new pilot and finale were written, and a lot of scenes were reshot under new showrunner Dario Scardapane. “They Frankenstein-ed the thing together,” Cox said, crediting Scardapane and Marvel producers for executing the pivot.

He praised the current season’s direction, noting that it feels more ensemble-driven. “[Dario Scardapane] fleshed out characters that in the previous iteration of the show often get left behind,” Cox said. He also praised the scripts, calling them “some of the best writing we’ve ever had on this show.”

The second season is currently in production.
