Charlie Cox has shared some thoughts regarding a potential Daredevil solo MCU movie.
Cox has played Matt Murdock since 2015, which is when the Netflix Daredevil show originally premiered. That series ran for three seasons, while Cox also had a pivotal role in the 2017 The Defenders crossover show. Following that, Cox had minor roles in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, 2022’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and 2024’s Echo before the Disney+ Daredevil: Born Again series premiered this past March.
What did Charlie Cox say about a Daredevil MCU movie?
Speaking with Scott Mantz at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation Conversations series, Cox was asked what it will take for Daredevil to get his own MCU feature film.
“I’m the worst person to ask,” Cox answered. “I have no idea. I don’t know — you have to ask the grown-ups. I don’t know anything. And I like not knowing anything, you know?”
Cox did, however, go on to add, “The only thing I’ll say is I’m just such a happy camper. I’m so thrilled to be here. I love that I get to tell the story in long-form. Also, because I’m part of the show, like you guys just had the experience, every season, we get to see the first two episodes on the big screen. So I get that experience. It is a shame because, particularly with the pilot, it’s such a cinematic episode. It feels like it deserves to be seen on the big screen. But, I don’t know. Just write letters, everyone just write letters.”
There’s been no official word about Cox starring in any upcoming Marvel Studios movie at this point. A second season of Daredevil: Born Again is currently in the works, though, and will see Krysten Ritter reprise her Jessica Jones role alongside Cox.
