Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 3 Trailer Previews Return of Paramount+ Drama

Paramount+ has released the official trailer for Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 3.

Criminal Minds previously aired for 15 seasons on CBS from 2005-2020. In 2022, the series was revived and retitled Criminal Minds: Evolution. The police procedural also moved from network TV to Paramount+.

What happens in the Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 3 trailer?

Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 3 begins six months after prisoners attack Elias Volt, also known as the Sicarius Killer. Volt’s followers begin an uprising on the dark web and wreak havoc throughout the country. “In order to stop this nefarious group from killing more innocents,” the official synopsis reads, “the BAU is forced to work alongside an increasingly unpredictable Voit who has his own agenda.”

Criminal Minds: Evolution stars Joe Mantegna as David Rossi, A.J. Cook as Jennifer “JJ” Jareau, Kirsten Vangsness as Penelope Garcia, Aisha Tyler as Dr. Tara Lewis, Zach Gilford as Elias Voit, RJ Hatanaka as Tyler Green, Adam Rodriguez as Luke Alvez, and Paget Brewster as Emily Prentiss.

Matthew Gray Gubler, who played Dr. Spencer Reid for the first 15 seasons of the flagship show, will make his triumphant return in Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 3. Dr. Reid is a criminal profiler who instantly becomes one of the audience’s favorite characters. Gubler is only expected to appear in one episode in Season 3.

Erica Messer is the showrunner of Criminal Minds: Evolution. Messer is an executive producer with Erica Messer, Chris Barbour, Glenn Kershaw, Breen Frazier, and Mark Gordon. 20th Television and CBS Studios produce the series.

Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 3 premieres with one new episode on Thursday, May 8, on Paramount+. New episodes will drop weekly through the season finale on July 10.
