‘Creed’ Meets ‘Warrior’ in Russell Crowe’s New Streaming Sensation

Aside from a couple of supporting roles in the major superhero movies Thor: Love and Thunder and Kraven the Hunter, Russell Crowe has had a rather uneventful decade as a performer. None of his movies have broken through at the box office, nor has he received the kind of acclaim that became routine for him in the 1990s and 2000s. Crowe's last major tentpole as a leading man was Noah, which was released more than a decade ago. He wasn't invited back for Gladiator II, a movie that he has publicly criticized on more than one occasion. Instead, Crowe has starred in smaller-scale genre films such as the action-thriller Unhinged and the horror hit The Pope's Exorcist. More recently, Crowe appeared in a well-received sports drama that is now being discovered by audiences at home.
