CORONATION Street’s Bobby Crawford quits Weatherfield after a shock accusation leaves him reeling.

The cheeky lad, played by Jack Carroll, jetted off to Majorca to see Simon Barlow, telling Carla Connor (Alison King) he was off for a birthday knees-up.

But fans know there’s heartbreak behind the holiday – as Bobby secretly cut ties with a close pal before fleeing the cobbles.

Bobby was left gutted when Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) dropped the bombshell that she thought he had been the one blackmailing her.

Lauren had been the victim of countless threatening texts after someone witnessed her stealing and crashing Tracy Barlow’s (Kate Ford) van.

The loyal pal had forked out £500 to help her – completely unaware that she’d suspected him all along.

The real blackmailer turned out to be Jake Windass (Bobby Bradshaw).

Lauren was able to wipe the incriminating snaps without handing over a penny.

Though Lauren admitted she’d used the cash for a flat deposit, not hush money, it was her lack of trust that hit Bobby hardest.

Heartbroken Bobby couldn’t believe Lauren ever thought he’d stoop so low – just to win her over.

Crushed by the accusation, he coldly brushed off her apology and made a beeline for the airport, asking Carla for cash and time off so he could escape the drama.

And in a brutal parting shot, he told Lauren they should be strangers from now on – leaving her stunned.

Is their friendship over for good, or could time apart heal old wounds?

Bobby decided to get away from the Street and clear his head – leaving Carla stunned as he packed his bags for Spain.

Will he ever return to Weatherfield?

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 or stream from 7am on ITVX.
