Tonight’s Coronation Street ended on a dramatic cliffhanger as one character was left for dead after a brutal beating.
Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) began his day full of optimism ahead of his shift in CID, shadowing DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) on his daily duties.
However, things went downhill pretty quickly when it became clear that Kit wasn’t interested in helping Craig, and even went so far as to tell him that he’d never be a detective constable.
Craig was hurt by Kit’s harsh critique, but was soon buoyed by DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers), who encouraged him to get back into uniform and prove Kit wrong.
The officer was quick to jump into action and attend to reports of a disturbance on Mawdsley Street, where Mick and Lou Michaelis (Joe Layton and Farrel Hegarty) had been heard fighting.

Though Lou assured Craig that everything was fine, he later overheard a violent altercation and headed out in search of Mick, after he fled from the scene.
He eventually found him drink driving in his van, and pulled him over at the precinct to breathalyse him.
However, Mick was less than co-operative, and clearly agitated after discovering some devastating news about Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey).

As Craig attempted to arrest him, Mick threatened him with a baseball bat.
Though Craig tried his best to calm Mick down, he ended up lashing out, knocking Craig unconscious with the bat.
Realising what he’d done, Mick jumped back in his van and sped away from the scene, leaving Craig bleeding on the floor.
Will anyone come to his rescue in time?
