Running out of guesses on the September 17 edition of NYT Connections? We’re here to help you add another day to your daily streak with some clues and hints.

Connections is one of the most popular online puzzles offered by The New York Times Games. Created by editor Wyna Liu, the objective of this word game is to sort 16 given words into four different categories based on hidden common themes. Each group follows a unique theme that players must identify and select the words accordingly.

The game offers only four guesses to make the choices. Additionally, players who are close to selecting all four correct words of a group receive a helpful “one away…” notification.

All 16 words in today’s puzzle are: WIND CHIME, FLAG, RAINBOW, FLIP-FLOP, WEDGE, STUFF, NEIGHBORHOOD, BACKPEDAL, KANGAROO, PINWHEEL, JAM, STREET, ABOUT-FACE, VANE, SHOEHORN, and RENEGE.

Here are some hints for each group:

Yellow Group: This group features objects connected to wind. Green Group: This group features words related to changing opinions. Blue Group: This group features words related to stocking things. Purple Group: Finally, the purple category features words related to popular kids’ shows.
