She also played Mary McKinnon on Another World from 1986-89. Alexander’s on-screen daughter, Genie Francis (Laura), paid homage to her on her official X (formerly Twitter) account, writing, “Thank you mama, for so much more than u know. #GH.Kin Shriner (Scott Baldwin, Lesley’s former son-in-law) wrote on Instagram, “Good bye Denise aka Leslie Weber , what fun we had !!!” John Stamos (ex-Blackie Parrish), whose GH character was adopted as a teenager by Lesley and her husband, Rick Webber, commented on Shriner’s post: “Another wonderful influence and someone who was there in the beginning to give me confidence and love – is gone. RIP Denise . Xoxo JS”

Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie Williams, DAYS) wrote on Instagram of her former co-star, “Denise Alexander was a friend to treasure and an actress to applaud. She was well established on Days when I joined the cast as Julie #4 (a replacement for 3 previous actresses). She watched Billy [Hayes, ex-Doug, Seaforth Hayes’s late husband] and I fall madly in love and, being a romantic lady herself, cheered us on. Such happy memories of her years in Salem and her great success on General Hospital. We both began as child actors, both had strong mothers and both were raised as Christian Scientists in our early years. I was grateful for her wisdom, taste, humor, and goodness every time I saw her. It was never enough. And my love for her will never be over. ❤
