Superstar Francis 'The Predator' Ngannou will make his Professional Fighters League debut against the winner of Sunday's (AEDT) heavyweight 'superfight' between Renan Ferreira and Ryan Bader.

Ngannou shook up the combat sports world by signing with PFL in May and gave Tyson Fury an almighty scare in his boxing debut in October, knocking the champion to the canvas in the third round.

The 37-year-old will fight another heavyweight star, Anthony Joshua, on March 9 (AEDT) before turning his attention back to the PFL.

Ferreira and Bader are the main event on Sunday's PFL vs Bellator card at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.

"Francis is a true combat sports icon with a global fan base and appeal," PFL chief executive Peter Murray said.

"We, along with the rest of the MMA world, will be watching to see who his first opponent will be - Ferreira or Bader."

Ngannou will attend the Ferreira vs Bader fight in Saudi Arabia.

"I never thought I had finished my MMA career," Ngannou told ESPN.

"I just wanted to chase my dream in boxing. Obviously, I can do both and combine them whenever the opportunity is there. I'm not done with MMA. How complicated that is for me will be new ground, but I really have a feeling I want to go back to my comfort zone and dominate for a little bit and then come back to boxing."
