New videos taken from the set of Clayface have emerged online and tease a wild dance number that could rival the one featured in 2019’s Joker.

Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios’ Clayface is currently in production. Directed by James Watkins, the DCU movie will see Tom Rhys Harries play the titular Batman villain, while Naomi Ackie also stars in the film.

What do we see in the Clayface set videos?

New Clayface set videos, shared on Twitter by @EGGBOY_03, appear to tease a dance number set to the tune of Fred Astaire’s rendition of “The Way You Look Tonight,” which was featured in the 1936 movie Swing Time. The videos involve heavy use of shadows and take place on the steps of a building that looks like a courthouse in Gotham City.

The context behind these set videos remains unclear at this time, though many are speculating that this could be the scene where the character first discovers he’s able to shapeshift.

What if this is a scene where he discovers he can now shapeshift?

I assume that this is the scene where he discovers his new shapeshifting powers

There have also been many comparisons to Todd Phillips’ Joker movie from 2019. That DC film featured the now-iconic moment where the Joaquin Phoenix-portrayed character danced down the West 167th Street Stars, now more commonly known as the Joker Stars, in New York City.

The script for Clayface comes from Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini. This will be the third feature film set within James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU, following 2025’s Superman and 2026’s Supergirl. The Batman’s Matt Reeves is producing Clayface alongside Gunn and Safran.

Described as a body horror movie that is expected to receive an R-rating, Clayface will be released in United States theaters on September 11, 2026. Joker, meanwhile, is currently available to stream on HBO Max.
