A new batch of Clayface set photos has been unveiled, as filming continues on the upcoming DC Studios movie in Liverpool, England. It is set to arrive in theaters on September 11, 2026, as part of DC Universe’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters saga.

What is shown in the new Clayface set photos?

Posted on X, the new set photos provided fans with a behind-the-scenes look at another Gotham City location that will be featured in Clayface. Crew members can be seen transforming Liverpool’s New Brighton Fair into Gotham City’s Amusement Mile. This won’t be the first time that the amusement park was brought to life on the big screen, as it was also previously featured in 2019’s Joker and 2020’s Birds of Prey.

Amusement Mile is run down and it's a very old poster.

It also appears to house the Father Knickerbocker Wax Museum where Clayface III had his base of operations in Detective Comics #478 pic.twitter.com/4YlNSx1wLF

The Clayface movie is being directed by James Watkins, who is known for his work on horror movies like 2012’s The Woman in Black and 2024’s Speak No Evil. The screenplay was written by horror filmmaker Mike Flanagan, with Hossein Amini tapped to make minor revisions. The cast includes Tom Rhys Harries, Naomi Ackie, Max Minghella, and Eddie Marsan. When Harries’s casting was first confirmed, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn revealed that he and Matt Reeves were blown away by his audition.

The titular DC character is best known as a fan-favorite Batman villain who has shapeshifting abilities. Described as a body horror thriller, the adaptation will reportedly feature “a Hollywood horror tale centering on a B-movie actor who injects himself with a substance to keep himself relevant.”
