Clayface has unveiled another disturbing look at Matt Hagen’s transformation into the DCU’s iconic Batman villain. The latest poster pushes the film’s body-horror approach further, showing Hagen’s human features breaking down into a grotesque clay form.

Matt Hagen (played by Tom Rhys Harries) appears trapped between his human identity and the creature taking over his body. His face seems to melt into thick layers of clay, while a single eye remains visible through the distorted surface. The artwork also mixes his changing form with a decaying Gotham skyline, making the city appear to dissolve alongside him.

What is the new DCU Clayface movie about?

The new Clayface movie follows Matt Hagen, a rising Gotham actor whose career is destroyed after a violent attack leaves him disfigured. Desperate to restore his appearance, he undergoes an experimental treatment that initially brings back his old face. However, the procedure also changes his body and gives him the ability to reshape himself.

James Watkins directs the movie from a script by Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini. Naomi Ackie also stars, with the story taking the DCU into body-horror territory rather than traditional superhero action. DC has described the film as a horror movie set within the new DC Universe.
